Homing pigeons are truly fascinating, aren't they? These pigeons, also known as carrier pigeons, have the unique ability to find their way back, even over great distances. This ability is due to a combination of their magnetic sense, which detects the Earth's magnetic field, their visual memory, and perhaps even their sense of smell.

In the past, homing pigeons were often used to send messages before the advent of modern means of communication. This made them indispensable in times of war and in times of emergency.

They could certainly return to the role of messengers in the near future, given that modern means of communication are a target for terrorism!
